Something’s not adding up

An accountant couldn’t explain some anomalies in his client’s business bank statements and sought our advice to help him and his client.

Working with the accountant we soon identified some suspicious transactions. We quickly put a team together including an investigator and an IT expert and obtained Court Orders to conduct a private search of the suspected employee’s residence and computers and smartphone. Unfortunately, the client had been the subject of a major fraud over a number of years. Due to our fast work and collaboration with the accountant and specialised team we were able to recover almost 90% of the stolen funds from the employee’s assets, through insurance and by making a claim against the client’s business auditor.
