Vaccination D Day

By the 15th October (TODAY), all employees that are working (or will work) onsite need to provide their employer with evidence of:

  1. being fully vaccinated or evidence of the first dose of vaccine: or

  2. a vaccination booking no later than 22 October 2021 for the first dose of vaccine; or

  3. an exemption issued by a doctor.

If you have employees that do not meet the above criteria, then you cannot permit those employees to return to your workplace.  If you do, individuals face fines of $21,808 and companies face fines of $109,044.

By 26 November 2021, all employees that are not working from home must be fully vaccinated.  Employees are required to provide evidence of their vaccination status and employers must sight and maintain a copy of the vaccination status of their employees.

What do you do if you have employees that you need to return to work but have not met the above requirements?

Unfortunately, you will have to consider terminating their employment.  If you are considering how to manage employees who have not been vaccinated, you need to tread carefully.
