What's something about you that clients might be surprised to know?
Joe Sweeney
Okay. I think something that clients might be surprised to know about me is that I speak Chinese. I studied Chinese when I was training to become a lawyer, and I've had the good fortune of living in China both as a student and as a lawyer. And it's been a constant fascination in my life, to try and improve my language and learn more about the culture. And it brings me a lot of enjoyment.
Interviewer:
If you weren't a lawyer, what would you have been?
Joe Sweeney:
If I wasn't a lawyer, I think I would've made a good psychologist. It is my general nature to want to understand people and understand their needs and explore with them what it takes for them to reach their potential. So I think they are the qualities of a good psychologist, if not a good lawyer.
Interviewer:
Yeah. What's one thing that you enjoy most about helping clients?
Joe Sweeney:
I think what I enjoy most about helping clients is, again, similar to what I said before. It's about meeting them and learning about what they do in their business. What their business objectives are, what challenges they are facing, and how to overcome them. And coming to identifying what needs to be done from a legal angle to help them reach their goals.
